Japan is a long and narrow island country, but there are high mountains all over the country, including the Northern Alps, which are over 3,000 meters high. Near my house is Mt. Daisen, an independent peak that is popular as one of the few mountains in Japan that can be climbed in the middle of winter. This mountain, which has a shape similar to Mt. Fuji, has been the object of mountain worship since ancient times, and many temples and shrines were built at its base. These mountains are places where you can clearly feel the change of seasons and weather, but they are also mountains of ``impermanence'' that sometimes take lives. Mountains, which have been objects of faith and art since ancient times, have a variety of expressions of "beauty" and are very attractive, but at the same time they are also a place for training in how to reach and capture that "beauty".
